What is COST?
COST has been an intergovernmental framework for European Co-operation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research since its creation in 1971. Its goal is to strengthen the competitiveness of Europe's scientific and technical research for peaceful purposes.
It is divided into different Scientific and Technical Domains, and its work is based on Actions in which participants from different COST and non-COST countries cooperate to allow a "bottom-up" approach to the coordination of the different national research projects.
